The awarding ceremony of "International Wood Culture Society Wood Craft Training Base" was held in Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry on the morning of July 15, 2019.

Guests attended the ceremony were: Mr. Wu Jianhua, President of Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry; Mr. Yang Jinrong, Director of Jiangsu Gongmei Hongmu Culture & Art Institute and Vice President of International Wood Culture Society(IWCS); Ms. Su Jinling, Secretary General of IWCS; Professor Xu Yiyi from Nanjing University. All the trainees of "2019 Chinese Traditional Wood Working Culture and Techniques Training Program" also attended the ceremony.

Mr. Wang Yongping, Dean of the College of Landscape Architecture of Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry presided over the ceremony. Ms. Su Jinling announced the establishment of the training base and raised three expectations for the base. In the address made by Mr. Wu Jianhua, he said that the school will earnestly implement the work of the base, and will give full play to the role of the base to make contributions to the cultivation of wood skills composite talents. At last, they jointly unveiled the nameplate of "International Wood Culture Society Wood Craft Training Base ".

With the establishment of the Base, IWCS hopes to promote wood as a good eco-friendly material and encourage the responsible uses of wood and to remind the public of the benefits and the key role wood played in a sustainable world. In addition, IWCS and the Base will organize the wood skills training to the whole society, carried out cultural exchanges and practices, make contributions to the promotion and development of Chinese traditional wood working culture and techniques.
